we've always taken health and hygiene very seriously.

we're open as usual and in addition to our regular strict sanitising procedures for all appointments, we're doing more to help keep you healthy.

during this heightened period related to Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to be as proactive as possible to ensure the health and wellness of our team members and guests.  

this is a fluid situation that we continue to monitor for new updates as well as operational protocol guidelines to contain the potential spread. at tropical north day spa, hygiene and safety have always been paramount.  our sanitation and hygiene procedures are based on best practices available to the beauty therapy industry, for preventing the spread of communicable diseases.

  • our team members wash their hands and use hand sanitiser between all guests.

  • our tools and equipment are sanitised and/or disposed of after use.

  • our linens and towels are laundered in commercial-grade machines using hot water and 20amp dryers.

  • sheets are commercially cleaned after each use.

  • all high-touch areas are wiped with disinfectant wipes throughout the day.

  • all hard surface are cleaned and disinfected nightly using hospital-grade disinfectants and during this period we have increased our cleaning protocols to thoroughly disinfect all high-touch areas regularly throughout the day.

we have added extra safety procedures throughout this heightened time of concern:

  • spa therapists are provided with 15min breaks between guests, to ensure all hard surfaces and door handle are sterilised in treatment rooms.

  • all herbal tea and water will be served in paper cups

  • we have removed magazines from the spa

  • clipboards and biros are sanitised between each use.

  • therapists are happy to wear gloves if guests request

best practices for all to stay healthy

  • stay home when you are sick, especially with symptoms of, high temperature, sore throat, dry cough or shortness of breath.

  • wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.

  • regularly apply hand sanitiser.

  • cover your mouth with tissues or elbow when you sneeze or cough, then discard used tissues in the bin and wash hands.

  • avoid touching your face (eyes, nose and mouth).

  • avoid hugging, kissing and handshakes whenever possible.

  • clean frequently touched surfaces.

as our guest, if you have a scheduled appointment and are not feeling well, we understand and request for you to please contact us as early as possible to reschedule.  

to further support this, we have temporarily suspended our cancellation policy for all appointments and there will be no penalties for cancellation.
